Gumbo Its Not Just For Mardi Gras

It’s Gumbo time of the year

Once again its that time of the year when the temp is starting to drop and the gumbo pots are getting heated up. While gumbo is an anytime food for me alot of people only cook it durring the colder months. You would think that with the invention of air conditioning that you wouldn’t have to wait till fall for gumbo. So i say any time is a good time for gumbo

That Time of the Year

Well its that time of the year when we are starting to think about the coming colder months and Gumbo. Football season is starting and what could be better than Gumbo for the Sunday crew showing up to watch the game. For these informal gatherings i like to make just a simple gumbo of chicken and susage. No need to get real fancy for the guys and gals just simple and good gumbo.

Man Drowns in Gumbo Pot

It’s a sad day in Gumbo City as it has lost one of it most notable citizens “Homa Gumba”. Homa is survived by his wife “Juma Gumba , and his son :”Buba Gumba”. Homa was in the process of trying to break the worlds record for largest pot of Gumbo. Evidently Humas secrete ingredient Kentucky Bourbon while was to much to handle in such a large quantity. Huma’s “Shrimp Gumbo” Recipe which makes 2 gallons, calls for you to drink 1 shot of the Bourbon and then add 1 cup of bourbon to the pot. The world record that Homa was attempting to break required him to make a 200 gallon pot of Gumbo. Eye witnesses say that right after the 29 shot Homa attempted to pour the next cup of bourbon into the pot and fell off the ladder into the pot.
